Le GOXLR de TC-Helicon est la carte son créée par définition pour les streamers. C’est d’ailleurs la carte son utilisée par Zerator pour ses sessions sur Twitch. Le gros point fort de la TC-Helicon GoXLR c’est sa <em>soundboard</em> et ses effets. Ainsi, cette carte son XLR se configure par un logiciel et vous permet d’appliquer des effets en live grâce à une table de mixage intégré. Il est possible de rajouter des bruitages, de faire des effets de <em>reverb</em>, de <em>pitch</em>, d’écho, et bien plus. Le tout s’effectue depuis les boutons de la console.</p>

Avec des spécifications allant jusqu’à 24bits/192kHz pour deux entrées combi Jack/XLR, cette carte son à de quoi plaire. Les musiciens apprécieront sûrement la sortie et l’entrée MIDI à l’arrière. La carte son est également très agréable pour l’écoute avec le retour sans latence – idéal pour une capture depuis un micro.</p>

Dans cet article, on se limite aux cartes son avec une interface <strong>USB</strong><em>.</em> Sachez, si vous êtes sur Mac que vous pouvez toujours disposer de cartes son avec <strong>Firewire</strong> ou <strong>Thunderbolt</strong>. Ces deux types de connecteurs étant principalement sur les <a href="https://mistergeek.net/informatique">Mac</a>, il est difficile de les retrouver sur PC. De même si vous travaillez seul chez vous, une carte son avec un port USB sera suffisante et vous coûtera moins cher.</p>

Elle correspond au <strong>nombre de bits</strong> utilisés pour coder l’amplitude du son. Plus la résolution est élevée et meilleure sera la qualité de votre enregistrement (ou de votre écoute). Une résolution de <strong>16 bits</strong> signifie que l’amplitude de votre signal est codée sur <strong>2^16 bits soit 65 536 valeurs.</strong> Sur les cartes son grand public, la résolution est généralement de 16 ou 24 bits. Pour le CD, la résolution standard est de 16 bits.</p>

Exprimé en Hz, la fréquence la plus connue est sûrement celle du <strong>CD à 44100 Hz</strong>. La fréquence d’échantillonnage détermine le temps entre deux informations numériques.</p>

À 44100 Hz et selon le <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9or%C3%A8me_d'%C3%A9chantillonnage" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">théorème de Shannon </a>cela permet d’échantillonner des signaux d’une fréquence de 22050Hz au maximum. En sachant que le spectre de l’oreille humaine va de 20 Hz à 20 kHz, cette fréquence semble correcte, mais pour plus de précision il faut monter en fréquence.</p>

Elle permettra d’enregistrer un synthétiseur, une guitare ou une basse. En général dans une carte son, on trouvera plutôt des Jack 1/4″ soit 6.35mm. Si vous avez du matériel avec du jack 3.5mm, il faudra trouver un adaptateur.</p>

Elle permettra de brancher un micro à la carte son. Et c’est bien ce qui nous intéresse ici. Il faudra vérifier si votre micro nécessite une <strong>alimentation Phantom </strong>(« <em>Phantom Power</em>« , traduit en « alimentation fantôme » en Français). Si c’est le cas, il faudra que votre carte son en ait une (en général, c’est un voyant « 48V »). </p>

Les cartes sont professionnelles permettent parfois des alimentations différentes. Il existe trois valeurs selon la norme CEI 268-15A : P48, P24 et P12. Elles sont respectivement pour les tensions de 48, 24 et 12 V.</p>

L’alimentation <strong>Phantom </strong>est nécessaire pour la grande majorité des micros à condensateur. Sur les micros dynamique et à ruban il ne faut pas en mettre sous peine de les abimer. Très présente sur les ordinateurs, cette norme de connectique se décline en plusieurs formats et en plusieurs versions. Les normes USB assurent une rétro-compatibilité, malgré tout, privilégiez une version récente de l’USB (3 ou 3.1) pour permettre d’alimenter sereinement votre carte son XLR.</p>

Thunderbolt est le nom de la marque d’interface matérielle développée par Intel et Apple. Tout comme l’USB elle permet de connecter des périphériques externes à un ordinateur. La dernière version en date est Thunderbolt 3 et reprend la même connectique que l’USB type C.</p>

Cette connectique est parfois privilégié pour sa capacité à pouvoir transporter des données à haute vitesse. Il arrive que certains constructeurs ne rendent leurs produits compatibles qu’avec cette interface.</p>
